How to receive payments from US clients in Bangladesh
A 2026 guide for Bangladeshi freelancers and businesses invoicing US clients in USD: compare BDT settlement, account eligibility, supporting documents and the real gaps in each fee quote.
Best way to receive USD payment in Bangladesh: separate the transfer from the account
A US client may be able to send a transfer quickly, but the recipient still needs a route that fits Bangladesh’s banking, documentation and foreign-currency handling requirements. That is why GetPaidGlobe does not publish a pretend BDT “winner” from an incomplete public fee table.
Four practical routes for US clients paying Bangladeshi freelancers
Wise
A US client creates a supported transfer to a Bangladeshi bank or mobile-wallet endpoint, where available.
Best for: payer-led transfer with a visible pre-send BDT quote.BRAC Bank Freelancer Matrix

Best for: eligible freelancers who need a bank-led commercial receiving path.Payoneer
A global receiving-account or marketplace-payout option; availability, withdrawal charges and FX are account specific.
Best for: eligible receiving-account or platform income flows.Direct bank wire
A US client sends an international commercial wire to the beneficiary bank, subject to correspondent fees and conversion.
Best for: client-mandated payments after bank and document checks.Wise vs Payoneer vs local freelancer banking in Bangladesh
| Route | Client action | Core benefit | What cannot be assumed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wise | Creates a supported transfer and checks the live quote. | Clear payer-side fee and rate before payment. | That a transfer endpoint replaces a commercial freelancer banking setup. |
| BRAC Freelancer Matrix | Uses the recipient’s verified bank details and required evidence. | Local account framework for eligible freelancer receipts and currency handling. | Exact current bank charges, documentation outcome or timing without confirmation. |
| Payoneer | Pays eligible account details or uses a supported marketplace withdrawal. | Established global account and platform ecosystem. | Final BDT received from a generic pricing page. |
| Bank wire | Sends a commercial SWIFT payment. | Familiar invoice trail for many companies. | Total cost without asking about correspondent and recipient-bank charges. |
Bangladesh freelancer payment checklist
- Confirm whether this is a direct client invoice or a personal remittance. These are not interchangeable use cases.
- Ask what payment-purpose and source documents your receiving bank needs: invoice, contract, work order or proof of service.
- Confirm which account will receive BDT and, if relevant, what part can be retained in ERQ under the bank’s current rules.
- Capture the final BDT amount, not simply the transfer fee advertised to the US client.
- For a bank wire, ask about sender, correspondent and recipient charges before the invoice is paid.
How to use the calculator for US-to-Bangladesh payments
Choose United States, Bangladesh, USD and BDT on the homepage. The result intentionally keeps quote-dependent routes out of a net-payout ranking. It helps the reader choose the relevant payment flow; matched provider quotes and local-account confirmation are still needed before a final decision.
